Excavation in Kaysville, Davis County
Kaysville is where one of the demolitions on Ryan's Instagram took place, a house taken down to a pile of splintered siding and lumber, captioned "You thought a tornado came through." It is a good picture of the work here. Kaysville has more room than much of Davis County, and many properties still carry older homes, sheds and outbuildings that were built for a different time. Many of those lots are big enough to fit a new house where an old one stood.
When one of those structures comes down, the job is not over once the walls hit the ground. The debris gets cleaned up, trees that need to go come out, and the ground is graded so the lot is ready for a new home, a shop, or simply a usable yard. Buried debris that turns up during the tear-down is dealt with before the ground is shaped.
The east side of Kaysville rises toward the mountains, with rockier soil and sloped lots. West of I-15 the land is flatter and closer to the lake, with finer soil that stays wet longer in spring. Grading on either side starts with deciding where the water should go. A lot that is regraded after a demolition should drain better than it did before the old structure came down.
Homeowners and general contractors both have Kaysville work that fits: tear-downs ahead of a rebuild, site prep on infill lots, and regrading after a project wraps up.
