What demolition covers
Demolition is more than knocking a building over. The structure comes down, the debris gets cleared, and the ground underneath gets graded so the lot is usable again. Dig Daddy takes on small jobs like an old shed or a detached garage, and larger ones, up to a whole house.
Trees that are in the way can come out as part of the same job. When the work is done you have a clean, graded lot instead of a pile of lumber and concrete, whether you plan to rebuild, sell or put in a yard.
From the first call to a clean lot
It starts with photos. Send pictures of the building and the area around it to 801-928-1577 or through the quote form, and Ryan will call to set up a live estimate within 24 hours. He looks at the structure, how the machine gets in, and what sits close by, like a fence, a neighbor's garage or the house you are keeping.
Before anything comes down, the utilities to the building need to be shut off and disconnected by the companies that run them. Older buildings can also need an asbestos inspection before demolition. Talk to Ryan about permits and inspections for your job so the paperwork is lined up before the machine shows up.
On demo day Ryan runs the machine himself. He is not the guy who drops off equipment and leaves. He stays until the building is down, the site is cleaned up and the lot is graded.
What affects the cost of a demolition
Every demo is priced on the job in front of him, so the best way to get a real number is a live estimate. The main things that move the price are the size of the structure, what it is built from, whether there is a slab or foundation to deal with, and how much material has to leave the site.
Access matters too. A shed in an open backyard is a different job than a garage tucked against a property line. Good photos up front show all of this, so the number you get is the number you pay.
If the lot is getting a new build, say so up front. Ryan can quote the demo together with site prep and grading, so the lot is handed off ready for the foundation dig.
For homeowners and general contractors
Homeowners call when an old shed, garage or house is past saving. General contractors call when a lot needs to be cleared before a new build. Either way you deal with one person: the man who quotes the job is the one running the machine on it.
Dig Daddy is licensed and insured and works across Salt Lake, Davis, Weber and Box Elder counties. If you are not sure whether your job is big enough or too big, call and ask.
Ryan posts his jobs as they happen on Instagram, including demolition work in Kaysville, so you can see the kind of work he does before you call.
